Hot Choc Reindeer & Festive Biscuit Sticks(Hot Choc Stirrers)

  • 125g/4.5 oz plain flour
  • 35g/ 1.5oz sugar
  • 85g/ 3oz butter
  • 1 teasp vanilla
  • 3 teasp cocoa powder / drinking chocolate.

Supplies(reindeer):

  • Icing bags
  • Clear elastics/clean unused elastic
  • Googly eyes
  • Red poms
  • Pipe cleaners
  • Hot chocolate ingredients(drinking chocolate, sweets, marshmallows etc)

 

Method:

  1. Pre-heat oven to 180 degrees (c), gas mark 4, 350 degrees (f).
  2. Mix flour & sugar together in a bowl.  Add butter & rub together until a breadcrumb consistency is formed.IMG_20181220_122554_resized_20181220_012930971
  3. Divide the mixture into two bowls.IMG_20181220_122616_resized_20181220_012931691
  4. In one bowl add 3 teasp of drinking chocolate/ cocoa powder.  In the other bowl add a teasp of vanilla essence.  Knead both mixtures into dough’s.
  5. Roll out both dough’s.  Using a pizza roller divide into strips.
  6. Roll out the strips & twist them together.
  7. Cut the rolled out biscuit twists in two & place onto a lined baking tray & cook for 20 minutes or until golden.
  8. (While the biscuits are in the oven we can put together the reindeer)
  9. Place an icing bag into a mug and scoop in 1/4 cup of cocoa powder, twist the icing bag & tie with a small clear elastic/clean unused elastic.  Snip of the excess icing bag with a scissors.
  10. Place the first icing bag into another icing bag.  Add in whatever sweets/candy you like ( I used m&ms) & marshmallows & tie off the bag with a small clear elastic/clean unused elastic.IMG_20181220_125859_resized_20181220_013019084
  11. Add pipe cleaners around it to resemble antlers.  Glue on two googly eyes & a red pom.IMG_20181220_130247_resized_20181220_013019382
  12. When biscuits are out of the oven cut to desired size & allow to cool.  These can be used to stir your hot chocolate or gifted separately in a Christmas bag.
