If you have people coming over for Christmas another option to a traditional one dish crumble is individual portions for dessert.
Ingredients:
- 125g/4oz plain flour
- 125g/4oz sugar
- 175g/6oz porridge oats
- 125g/4oz butter
- Cooking apples
- Dried cherries
- Mixed dried fruit
- Cinnamon
- Icing sugar
- Crushed walnuts
Method:
- Pre-heat oven to 180 degrees (c), gas mark 4, 350 degrees (f).
- Put your flour & butter into a bowl, rub together until it resembles breadcrumbs.

- Add Sugar & porridge oats & mix well.
- Wash, peel & slice cooking apples ( as many or as little as you would like).
- In a pie dish or individual dishes lay out your apple slices, dried cherries & dried mixed fruit. Sprinkle with cinnamon & icing sugar (I find that the icing sugar helps make the fruit juices more like syrup when cooking).
- Top with crumble topping, sprinkle over some crushed walnuts & place in the oven for 25 minutes or until golden.
- Serve with custard or with brandy cream.

Enjoy ! Have a very Merry Christmas & a healthy, happy New Year!
